Neurosurgeons — Physicians specialized in the surgical treatment of brain tumors, spine disorders and other diseases of the nervous system.
Physiatrists — Physical medicine and rehabilitation specialists, or physiatrists, are physicians concerned and trained in the diagnosis, evaluation and management of persons with physical disability.
Neuropsychologist — A clinical psychologist specialized in helping neuro patients and their families manage the emotional aspects of their medical problems and surgery.
Physician Assistant (PA) — A health care professional who practices medicine under the supervision of a physician. A PA may obtain medical histories, perform physical examinations, order and interpret diagnostic studies, implement patient management plans, and assist the physician in surgery.
Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) — A Registered Nurse who has received a master’s degree and is qualified to practice nursing in a specialty role. He or she may be a Clinical Nurse Specialist or a Nurse Practitioner. An APN uses advanced knowledge and skills to assist in managing and coordinating patient care. They may also provide further education to patients or other health team members.
