Laboratory Tests
Laboratory tests are used to measure a
number of health-related factors, including your blood
counts, cholesterol level, sugar level, etc.
How to Prepare
Please arrive for this outpatient procedure
at the time and location given to you.
These tests require no special preparation,
unless your physician or nurse tells you otherwise.
You may eat and drink as usual and remain active right
up until the time of your appointment.
What to Expect
When you arrive at the laboratory, a technologist
might ask you to provide a urine sample. The technologist
will then take a series of blood samples from your finger,
your arm, and possibly your ear. You may experience
slight discomfort during this process, which only takes
a few minutes to complete.
You may resume your normal activities
immediately.
